Maria - Eleni Gkremou

Maria-Eleni Gkremou is a "Sociologist, Criminologist, and Analytical Psychotherapist" with extensive professional experience in the fields of "mental health, addiction, and juvenile delinquency". She holds a "Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Panteion University", as well as two "Master’s degrees in Mental Health Promotion and Forensic & Psychiatric Forensics". She is a "PhD Candidate at the University of West Attica (UniWA), Department of Health Sciences", conducting research in the field of "psychoactive substances".
She is professionally engaged in the "treatment of addiction and dual diagnosis", providing individual and group psychotherapeutic support, as well as contributing to the design and implementation of "psychosocial rehabilitation and social reintegration programs". She has specialized expertise in "juvenile delinquency" and works as a "Supervisor at a Residential Facility for Adolescents".
She has participated as a "speaker at scientific conferences", is a "co-author of a scientific article published in an international journal", and regularly writes on topics related to "mental health, addiction, and social pathology".
Since "2009", she has acquired extensive professional experience as a "Psychotherapist and Addiction Treatment Specialist" in the fields of addiction treatment and mental health. She has worked at the "18 ANO Addiction Treatment Unit of the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica", within various programs, including the "Open Program, the Immigrants and Refugees Program, and the Dual Diagnosis Program", providing individual and group psychotherapy, psychological support, awareness-raising, motivation, and empowerment to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
She has also gained significant experience in "correctional facilities", providing psychological support and therapeutic interventions to incarcerated individuals with substance use disorders, as well as co-coordinating "social awareness and reflection groups".
Since "2022", she has additionally been responsible for the "reception, assessment, and integration of clients" into addiction treatment programs. In "2025", as part of the "psychiatric reform", her position was transferred from the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica – 18 ANO to "EOPAE". From "2025 to 2026", she worked at an "Outpatient Monitoring Unit within a drug-free treatment program", providing psychotherapeutic support to individuals with addiction-related difficulties.
Since "January 2026", she has been working at the "Alcohol and Legal Addictions Treatment Unit", providing psychotherapeutic services for individuals experiencing "substance use disorders, alcohol addiction, gambling addiction, and problematic internet/gaming use", through both "individual and group psychotherapy sessions".
